VISION

To attain a position of excellence with strong knowledge, innovation, and research activities in the field of electrical engineering.

MISSION

  • To provide quality in learning through dedicated teaching and industrial projects
  • To prepare students to face the challenges in the area of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

About Department

Prof. C. Ebbie Selva Kumar,
B.E., M.Tech., (Ph.D)

Head of the Department

Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department was established in the year 2006-2007 with a sanctioned strength of 60. The field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is the place to be in, for those who love working with electrical systems-ranging from heavy power generators to the smallest of Micro-Chips. The stream involves the design, manufacture, installation, operation and Management of Electrical systems that underpin modern economics and contribute to improving the quality of life.

The EEE Department at CIT prepares students in their field using new-age information and computer intensive

  • Established in the year  2006 as one of the key departments to go for  research in renewable energy.
  • Well equipped with highly sophisticated facilities and is effectively guided by a group of devoted and diligent faculty members.
  • Has got excellent infrastructure facilities in terms of laboratories  to impart quality education and training to  students in all aspects of Power Engineering.
  • Has faculty members with expertise in neural networks, fuzzy logic, advanced signal processing, simulation tools and heuristic optimization techniques to overcome the bottlenecks of the currently challenging power issues.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO’s)

PEO1: Electrical and Electronics Engineering graduates will enable them to contribute the
essential skills to their personal and professional growth.

PEO2: Train the Electrical and Electronics Engineering graduates to lead engineering
organizations by utilizing their software and hardware skills.

PEO3: Prepare Electrical and Electronics Engineering graduates by providing a sound foundation
in mathematics, basic sciences and inculcate ability to use current techniques and skills to
prepare them for graduate studies and research.

Program Outcomes(POs)

  1. Apply the Mathematical knowledge and the basics of Science and Engineering to solve the problems pertaining to Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.
  2. Identify and formulate Electrical and Electronics Engineering problems from research literature and be ability to analyze the problem using first principles of Mathematics and Engineering Sciences.
  3. Come out with solutions for the complex problems and to design system components or process that fulfill the particular needs taking into account public health and safety and the social, cultural and environmental issues.
  4. Draw well-founded conclusions applying the knowledge acquired from research and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data and synthesis of information and to arrive at significant conclusion.
  5. Form, select and apply relevant techniques, resources and Engineering and IT tools for Engineering activities like electronic prototyping, modeling and control of systems and also being conscious of the limitations.
  6. Understand the role and responsibility of the Professional Electrical and Electronics Engineer and to assess societal, health, safety issues based on the reasoning received from the contextual knowledge.
